I know the plans I have for you … plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
–Jeremiah 29:11
Jesus didn’t tell his disciples all they wanted to know—only as much as they needed to know and had the capacity to receive at the moment (see Jno. 16:12).
Neither is he going to tell you all you want to know—only as much as you need to know and have the capacity to accept and absorb.
It’s like driving a car at night. You can’t see your destination—only as far down the road as your headlights reveal. But you can make the whole trip that way.
All you really need to know is that his plan is not to harm and condemn you, but to help and save you.
God knows what you don’t and sees
what you can’t, so let him map the trip.
