When God gives any man wealth
and possessions … this is a gift of God.
—Ecclesiastes 5:19
“God is bringing you into a good land,” Moses told the Israelites, “and you will lack nothing” (Deut. 8:9).
Then he told them how they should deal with their wealth:
1) Praise God for it (v. 10).
2) As your prosperity increases, be sure you don’t forget God (vv. 11-14).
3) Don’t boast that your own ability has produced it (v. 17).
4) Always remember that it is God who gives you the ability to produce wealth (v. 18).
Do you feel guilty about your prosperity? You shouldn’t. You’ve worked hard, dealt honorably, shared generously, and prospered greatly. “If God gives us wealth and property and lets us enjoy them, we should be grateful and enjoy what we have worked for. It is a gift from God” (Eccl. 5:19 GNT).
Accept God’s gifts gratefully,
enjoy them fully, and share them generously.
