I have put my hope in your word.
—Psalm 119:114
Your favorite meteorologist doesn’t control the weather; only reports it and gives warning when it turns nasty. Hearing his advice won’t stop storms, but heeding it may save your life.
Likewise, hearing God’s counsel won’t stop the storms that assault your life, but heeding it will assure your survival.
… everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock … the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock (Matt. 7:24-25).
When storms litter your landscape, dash your dreams, crush your hopes, and threaten your faith, you’ll be OK if your foundation is solid.
Weather forecasts are hit or miss;
God’s Word is always hit, never miss.
