Show me your ways, O Lord.
—Psalm 25:4
Jeff Patton felt like he was flying in a bottle of ink. He was certain he was in a climbing right turn, but his instruments indicated he was in a 60 degree dive. It took every ounce of willpower he had to disregard his feelings and trust his instruments. He jerked his F-15 out of its dive just three seconds short of crashing into the mountains of Iraq. Trusting his instruments saved his life!
Going your own way and doing your own thing is certain to end in disaster. The only way to safely negotiate your flight through life is to trust divine guidance. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5 NLT).
Trust in God isn’t a shot in the dark;
it is certainty that he leads to the light.
