In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice.
—Psalm 5:3
Paul got into a terrible mess in Ephesus …
We were really crushed and overwhelmed, and feared we would never live through it. We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God … and he did help us … (2 Corinthians 1:8-10 TLB).
You know the well-worn maxim: “When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!” When doom seemed certain, Paul put everything in the hands of God, and hung on for dear life. And God came through … “he did help us.”
He will do the same for you. “In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation” (Psalm 5:3).
