I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.
—1 Samuel 17:45
Eighty times—every morning and every evening for 40 days—the giant Goliath strutted into the valley and shouted, “Give me a man and let us fight each other.” And every time he shouted Saul’s soldiers shook in their sandals.
Not David. He jogged into the valley to take on Goliath with a slingshot. A chipmunk pitted against a rhino. “You come against me with a sword and spear and javelin,” David shouted, “but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.” You know the story—David cleaned Goliath’s clock with one rock.
The giant you’re facing may appear gigantic and overwhelming. His name may be Habit, Hate, Health, or Hardship—but you’re coming against him in the name of the Lord Almighty. You will win this one.
Your problem may be big, but your God is bigger.
