Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
—Joshua 23:14
Have you ever boarded an airplane without knowing the pilot? Climbed into the back seat of a taxi without knowing the driver? Made an appointment without knowing the doctor? Followed advice about nutrition, medicine, home safety, or weather without knowing the columnist?
The advice and promises of people often fall short, but the advice and promises of God never do. Joshua reminded Israel: “You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed” (Joshua 23:14).
Be grateful that people are sometimes trustworthy;
doubly grateful that God always is.
